A day in the life at preschool and nursery

Starting with Drop-Off... 7:30

You'll be given a warm welcome by either your child's key person or another member of your child's team as you come through the door. Whether you are in a rush or need a moment to ask a question, this is a moment for you to touch base with us.

We'll take your child through once they've said their goodbyes and feel comfortable, in time for a quick and nutritious breakfast. Don't worry, we brush teeth afterwards!

Then...Free Play!

After a nappy change (depending on your child's age and needs), we give our children the opportunity to have free play while they explore all the various resources in our nurseries. We love sensory play, including tuff trays full of exciting activities that correspond with our monthly theme.

We also encourage children to grow and develop life-skills through play. Our resources are constantly updated, including dress up stations for make-believe, reading nooks, outdoor mud kitchens, and a variety of sports!

We also have plenty of cuddly toys, model toys of animals, vehicles and people which are perfect for expanding their ever-growing imaginations!

Structured Learning with our Educators

We offer a unique array of classes at Lucky Beans Childcare that are part of what makes our early years education different.

From Spanish to tennis, dance to music, we normally have lessons two to three times a week. The children love getting involved with our hand selected teachers, and there are oh so many benefits! Our children are some of the best prepared little ones as they enter primary school.

Mealtimes

We deliver five to six nutritious and delicious meals while your child is in our care. We intersperse our snacks in between meals, since research tells us this is the way children like to eat the most. We find this gives children the burst of energy they need to support their needs throughout the day.

Breakfast typically happens after drop-off, followed by a small snack at 10:30. Lunch is between 11:45 and 12:30. We have another snack, then supper is normally at 4:40 pm.

We encourage children to develop healthy relationships with food through listening to their appetite cues and enjoying meals together as a family.

Yay! More Free Play

Outdoor Time

Our children spend time engaged in outdoor learning each and every day, in line with our forest school ethos. We located our nurseries next to large outdoor commons or parks with this in mind.

We also have uniquely designed outdoor spaces, in each and every site. These outdoor spaces, like our secret garden, have loads of sensory play, gardening stations, outdoor kitchens, play structures and much more! Each one is boutique, hand-designed by our founder Dr. Curtis in line with her vision of child-led play.

Nap Time!

Sleep and rest are of vital importance to a growing young child. Each of our nurseries transform into comfy sleeping spaces with fluffy warm blankets and soft sleep mats.

We allow our children to gently adjust to our routines, encouraging them to rest but without forcing them. We find that they tend to settle in quickly!

Pick Up

When you arrive, please feel welcome to chat to your child's key worker or another member of my team to check in on the days events and hear the days highlights.

We are partners with parents which means that we want to work with you to help your child become the best they can be. If you have any specific concerns, want to chat about your child's needs, or even get to know our carers better please don't hesitate to check in with us!
